The Graduate Certificate in Values-Based Leadership (GCVBL) is a six month program offered in a blended format which means that the program combines on-campus residencies with distance learning. This allows working professionals to benefit from the synergy of on-site learning and direct interaction with peers and faculty members, while being able to meet workplace demands and other commitments. The result is accessible, high quality learning with minimal professional disruption. In the event of COVID-19 or other constraints on travel, on-campus learning experiences will be delivered as meaningful, interactive, and full-time online residency experiences.
The GCL program is comprised of the following three courses:
- VBLD 510: Values-based Leadership: Being the best for the world
- VBLD 512: Values-based Collaboration and Partnership
- VBLD 514: Leadership, Culture and Sustainability
The first blended segment includes VBLD510 and VBLD512, two courses with three credits each which are taken concurrently. It includes a six day in-person residency. The second segment consists of a third three-credit online course with a field project and a five day virtual conference.
The Graduate Certificate in Values-Based Leadership is run concurrently with the MA in Leadership (Executive Leadership specialization) and serves as its first residency term.
Students can take this as a standalone program or use it towards the completion of the MA in Leadership (Executive Leadership specialization), MA in Leadership, MA in Global Leadership, MBA Executive Management or MA in Interdisciplinary Studies.
