Whether it is managing social media, dealing with a workplace issue, addressing an organizational or reputational crisis, or building relationships with stakeholders, the role of the corporate communication professional is more complex than ever. This 10-week graduate certificate will improve your management of internal and external organizational leadership, facilitation, and communication; solidify your understanding of stakeholder and public relations; and enable you to develop a deeper understanding of social and digital communications strategy and governance.
The Graduate Certificate in Professional Communication Management consists of three courses:
- PCOM 633 Strategic Communication
- PCOM 530 Strategic Digital Communication
- PCOM 632 Conflict Analysis and Management
You will begin the program with a 1-week online orientation, followed by a 3-week online pre-residency component, a 2-week on-campus residency, and finally a 4-week online post-residency component. All three of the courses start at the same time, have the same online and on-campus components, and end at the same time. The residency allows students to examine organizational communication challenges through live case studies and explore dimensions of personal and strategic leadership communication, the dynamics of organizational change and interactions, and the communication professional’s role as a conduit and connector supporting internal and external stakeholder engagement and fostering relations with employees, media, the public, government, and other organizations.
